ENGLISH PROFICIENCY FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS Foreign students who did not have English as a medium of study in school, will have to fulfill the requirement of proficiency in English. These students have to produce a Certificate stating their proficiency in written and spoken English from a recognized institute. All foreign students will also be interviewed prior to their admission. |
NO 1ST YEAR ADMISSION TO THE HOSTEL The construction work of the new hostels at A.J.C. Bose Road will begin from June 2011 and the A.J.C. Bose Road Hostel building will be pulled down soon. Hence there will be no admission to the Hostel this year. |
CATEGORIES OF ADMISSIONS
CATEGORY I: GENERAL, selected on merit.
CATEGORY II: Catholics, and other Christians, SC, ST, OBC (non creamy layer), Financially Challenged, Physically Challenged (differently abled) .
CATEGORY III: Outstanding sports persons and NCC cadets.
CATEGORY IV: Sons and daughters of College Alumini/ae Association members with long standing record of service to the college & society, Defense personnel etc.
Students of all categories having 60% and above will apply online through the website.

Arrangement for less than 60% students of Category-II & III
Only the students of Category-II & III, not having the required marks (60%) for applying, will not be able to apply ONLINE.
These students may meet the Principal / Vice-principal as per the schedule given below, for special permission to apply. Special arrangement is made in college, for these students of Category II and III.

The following schedule is applicable for ISC & CBSE board candidates only. The Schedule for WBHS and other boards will be announced later.

Category IV – College Alumini/ae Association members with long standing record of service to the college & society who seek to get their son/daughter admitted to St. Xavier's College, need to fill a separate form available with the Principal's office on 27 & 28 May (10am-12noon), after filling up the online application.
Defense personnel etc. may meet the Fr. Principal on 6, 7 & 8 June (10am-12noon).
